Sheila McKenzie
I am an experienced developer and operator of consumer businesses with a keen eye for spotting customer trends and a track record in building successful brands such as The Slug and Lettuce and Pitcher & Piano.
Capital Pub Company - Acted as Interim Operations Director for eight months as the Company worked to integrate a number of poor-performing acquisitions into an already stretched management team. During that period I restructured the Operations Team and delivered a number of small to medium-sized pub refurbishments within the London pub estate.
The Slug and Lettuce - Over seven years I was responsible for the transformation of The Slug and Lettuce from a disparate group of twelve pubs into this popular high street bar chain which now numbers some 80+ sites throughout the UK.
Fuller Smith & Turner plc - In 2005, I undertook a year-long project to revive and extend the life of a popular high street bar brand.
Pitcher & Piano - As founding partner I took the leading role in the development of the Pitcher & Piano concept from initial idea through to the development, project management and operation of the first Pitcher & Piano sites.
Hartford Group - As part of the repositioning of this struggling restaurant business, I was responsible for the development of new businesses - Borough Bar & Dining, The Common Room and several gastro pubs.
