About Sheila McKenzie

Before training as an executive coach, Sheila worked in small and medium-sized consumer businesses for over 25 years.

She was responsible for the creation and growth of The Slug and Lettuce plc bars and the founding Managing Director of Pitcher & Piano Ltd. She has broad City experience and is one of the few women who has served, as Managing Director, on a UK plc board. She has worked with larger companies to review, rework and revitalise their businesses and helped smaller firms to shape their strategy and grow.

Sheila understands business from the customer’s point of view and over many years has become expert at nurturing great teams and the businesses they run. She has taken her approach, enthusiasm and expertise into her coaching work and now loves helping others to grow.

Experience

• Created the first two Pitcher & Piano bars in London
• Oversaw the repositioning and growth of The Slug and Lettuce plc over 7 years
• Rejuvenated and relaunched a high street bar brand for a major brewer
• Created and developed a number of pilots for new food and drink concepts
• Integrated newly-acquired properties for a London pubco, a deal that almost doubled the size of the business
• Achieved ‘stellar’ improvement in performance for an independent hotel business through gradual changes in attitudes and actions
• Currently working alongside CEOs as they expand their business
• Coaching up and coming men and women into more senior roles
